The Delegation of the Republic of Moldova participated in the 144th session of the WHO Executive Board

February 1, 2019, GenevaBetween the 24th of January and the 1st of February, the Mission of the Republic of Moldova to the UN Office in Geneva attended the 144th session of the WHO Executive Board, during which a series of resolutions and decisions on global health have been approved, of which the Republic of Moldova has co-authored the resolutions on primary healthcare, universal heath coverage and antimicrobial resistance.

Ambassador Oxana Domenti delivered speeches regarding the annual report of the WHO Director-General, the report of the Regional Committees and regarding the implementation of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development. The Moldovan diplomat discussed cooperation strategies at a global, regional and national level, and reiterated the commitment of the Republic of Moldova to contribute to the implementation of the 13th WHO General Program of Work and the achievement of SDGs.

During the session, the Executive Board examined the draft budget for 2020-2021, the implementation plan for the same period, the impact framework of the 13th General Program of Work and a series of reports prepared by the WHO Secretariat.

At the end of the session, the Executive Board approved a series of decisions and resolutions to be adopted in their final form at the World Health Assembly, taking place in Geneva in May 20-28, 2019.
