Ambassador Agree of the Republic of Moldova to the Swiss Confederation, Oxana Domenti presented the copies of the letters of credence to the Head of Protocol of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mauro Reina

December 12, 2018, Bern – Ambassador Agree of the Republic of Moldova to the Swiss Confederation, Oxana Domenti presented the copies of the letters of credence to the Head of Protocol of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mauro Reina.

On the same day, Oxana Domenti met with Nicolas Brühl, Ambassador, Head of Europe, Central Asia, Council of Europe and OSCE Directorate of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

During the talks, the parties noted the upward dynamics of the Moldovan-Swiss dialogue in recent years, reaffirming their common commitment to deepening the bilateral political dialogue, the commercial and economic cooperation, and expanding the cooperation in other mutually beneficial areas. Also, the interlocutors highlighted the good relations between the two countries in the framework of the UN, agreeing to further strengthen the cooperation within various regional platforms.

Ambassador Oxana Domenti expressed gratitude to the Swiss Government for the valuable technical assistance provided to the Republic of Moldova through the Cooperation Strategies, recalling the significant role played by the Swiss projects in implementing the European reform agenda of Moldova and contributing to the welfare of the citizens of our country.

The Moldovan official expressed her full commitment to harness the potential of existing cooperation between Moldova and Switzerland and identify new areas of cooperation, as well as to expand the bilateral legal framework.

In this context, it was reiterated that Moldova relies on Switzerland’s support in achieving the goal of signing a Free Trade Agreement with the EFTA States, expressing gratitude for the inclusion of the Republic of Moldova in the list of cooperation priorities during the Swiss Chairmanship of the EFTA Ministerial Council during June-December 2018.

Swiss officials wished success to Ambassador Oxana Domenti in accomplishing her duties and assured her of the full support in achieving the goals aimed at strengthening the bilateral relations.
