Liechtenstein Development Service - 10 years of activity in the Republic of Moldova

On October 18, 2017 the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to the Swiss Confederation and to the Principality of Liechtenstein in cooperation with the Liechtenstein Development Service (LED) organized an official ceremony dedicated to the 10 years of the activity of LED in Moldova.

The event was opened by the Liechtenstein Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure, Economic Affairs and Sport, Mr. Daniel Risch and Ambassador Tudor Ulianovschi. The ceremony was attended by the LED President Mr. Christian Batliner, LED representative in the Republic of Moldova Mr. Pius Frick, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Justice and Culture of Liechtenstein, donors, the business community and civil society.

In his speech, Ambassador Tudor Ulianovschi underlined the importance of LED development assistance projects, particularly in the education and rural development sector, which support and complement the efforts of the Government of Moldova in modernizing and reforming the country. His Excellency highlighted the major impact of these projects for the future of the young generation, by increasing the chances of the graduates of the Technical Vocational Education Institutions to integrate into the labor market or to develop business activities in the country.

During the 10 years of LED work in the Republic of Moldova, a multitude of projects have been successfully implemented contributing to the reform of the VET sector, assistance for capital investment which contributes to the strengthening of the Technical Vocational Education System, the inclusion of Roma children in schools, quality promotion in early education as well as training in the field of entrepreneurship and employment of young people

The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure, Economy and Sport of Liechtenstein, pointed out the good cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the educational institutions, encouraging the continuation of reforms in education, which is a pillar of the development of the society.

In this context, the Deputy Prime Minister Risch officially announced the Prime Minister Adrian Hasler's intention to make a visit to the Republic of Moldova in March 2018.

The event was followed by a reception with an artistic program performed by the Moldovan actors Snejana and Leo Rudenco. The guests had the opportunity to admire beautiful paintings created by a true master of arts, painter Cezar Secrieru, as well as to taste the traditional dishes and indulge the Moldovan wine.
