Visit of Ambassador Tudor Ulianovschi to the Principality of Liechtenstein

Ambassador Tudor Ulianovschi paid a visit to Vaduz from 13-14 June 2017, during which he attended the Informational Event organized by the Government of Liechtenstein for the Heads of Diplomatic Missions accredited in Liechtenstein and had meetings with Prime Minister Adrian Hasler, members of the Government of Vaduz, as well as with the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the President of the Liechtenstein Development Service.

In the discussion with Adrian Hasler, the Prime - Minister of the Principality of Liechtenstein mentioned the importance of successfully implementing the e-Government initiative, according to the "Digital Liechtenstein of Tomorrow" program. Ambassador Ulianovschi informed about the successful implementation of e-government in the Republic of Moldova, the activity of the Electronic Governance Center and the provision of services by state institutions through the e-government portal. Prime Minister Hasler was deeply interested in studying the example of Moldova and taking over the good practices of our country in this area. In this context, the Ambassador conveyed an invitation of Mr. Adrian HASLER to visit the Republic of Moldova, which he willingly accepted.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Justice and Culture, Ms. Aurelia Frick, who visited the Republic of Moldova in 2011, advocated for the creation of a legal framework favorable to the liberalization of trade and reduction of barriers for expanding and diversifying the cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Principality of Liechtenstein. In particular, there were discussed preliminary steps for initiating negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement with EFTA States, fully supported by Minister Frick, and the opportunity to initiate negotiations on a bilateral Agreement on Avoiding Double Taxation.

The 10 years of cooperation with the Republic of Moldova of the Liechtenstein Assistance Agency served as a good opportunity for Ambassador Ulianovschi's discussion with Director Josef Brienemann. The Head of Mission expressed gratitude for the multitude of academic, medical and social projects successfully implemented in the Republic of Moldova, especially in the field of vocational education.

In addition, Ambassador Tudor Ulianovschi had a meeting with the leadership of the Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry, discussing the opportunity to attract investments and large manufacturing corporations, such as the Hilti Group, to the free economic zones in the Republic of Moldova.
