Today, November 11, Ambassador Tudor Ulianovschi presented the Letters of Credence to His Serene Highness, Prince Alois of Liechtenstein, accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to the Principality of Liechtenstein, with the residence in Geneva, herewith becoming the first Moldovan Ambassador accredited in Liechtenstein.

In the course of the meeting with His Serene Highness, Ambassador Tudor Ulianovschi conveyed the interest of our country in diversifying and fully capitalizing the potential of bilateral relations in trade-economic, financial, banking, educational and socio-humanitarian sectors. As well, Ambassador Ulianovschi expressed gratitude to His Serene Highness for the substantial humanitarian and financial assistance offered to educational and social institutions from our country. Republic of Moldova is the only country in Europe benefiting from the assistance and sustainable cooperation of the Liechtenstein Development Service, activity of which is highly appreciated by the Moldovan people.

Prince Alois de Liechtenstein highlighted the importance of enhancing the bilateral politic dialogue through capitalizing the financial – banking and investment climate of the Republic of Moldova, including by attracting multinational companies such as Hilti and Hoval in Moldovan free economic zones.

In the context of celebration in 2017 of ten years anniversary of cooperation with Liechtenstein Development Service, both parties agreed to hold in the spring of the next year, in Liechtenstein, a business forum and a high-level conference, bringing together business people and multi-party stakeholders from both countries.

In closing, His Serene Highness wished Ambassador Tudor Ulianovschi every success in the activity he has been entrusted with, assuring His Excellency of support throughout his mandate.

The agenda of the visit also included the meeting of Ambassador Tudor Ulianovschi with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Education and Culture of the Principality of Liechtenstein, Mrs. Aurelia Frick, which allowed an exchange of opinions on perspectives of extending the mutually beneficial cooperation with Liechtenstein in political-diplomatic, trade-economical, cultural, education and tourism sectors. The Head of Liechtenstein diplomacy has expressed interest in visiting the Republic of Moldova in the near future.

Liechtenstein is ranked second in the world after Qatar by gross domestic product per capita according to the nominal, being one of the largest producers of ceramics and building materials in the world.
